Well as the weather finally starts to warm up and the winter blues fade, we are looking forward to the start of the 2016/17 Nippers Season. This year we are aiming to provide more opportunities for our nippers to train and compete at carnivals. We have recently received 11 new training and 3 new competition boards to complement our existing stock.

Over the past few months, there has been a number of parents who have approached members of the committee wanting to be more involved in the program this year. To help with this and to help ensure our Nippers are safe in the surf, the Club will be holding Bronze Medallion Training in September.

The bronze medallion course is the minimum requirement to help out with water safety for the Nippers program. The bronze course also qualifies new members to be able to complete volunteer patrols throughout the year.

The sessions will run Tuesday and Thursday nights 7:00 – 9:30pm at the Surfclub starting 6 September with some weekend practical sessions. The cost for the course is $25 which covers the cost of the materials only. For more information or to book for the Bronze Course, please contact Scotty Edwards at scottyed8@gmail.com

The Nippers Season starts on Sunday 9 October at 9:00am.

There are also proficiency swims and open days booked for 10 September at Kempsey Pool and 24 September at the Crescent Head Pool.
