Nippers Revitalisation

Kempsey Crescent Head Nippers Revitalisation

The Kempsey Crescent Head Surf Life Saving Club is holding registration days and swim proficiencies in the coming weeks for the start of the 2016/17 Nippers season.

Kempsey Crescent Head Nippers President Alison Koivu said with the completion of the new surf club building, we are looking to expand our Nippers program this year.

We have purchased new training and racing boards, we are looking to hold specific training sessions on Friday afternoons and help our Nippers increase their skills and confidence in the water as well as the sessions on Sundays.

We are lucky enough to have Australia’s Best Beach as our training ground and the state awarded best public architecture building. “It’s now time to invest in our junior program and give our kids the best opportunities this year”.

We are hoping some of the success of the boaties from last year in winning a silver and bronze medals at Aussies, as well as Gold medals at State and Country will really rub off on our juniors said Alison.

The Nippers sign on day is an opportunity to meet some of the committee, get more information about Nippers and competition and also if parents are keen we would love them to sign up for a Bronze Course to allow volunteer patrols and water safety activities to be held this year.

A sign on day will be held at the Kempsey Crescent Head Surf Life Saving Club on Friday 9th September from 4 – 6pm and swim proficiencies will be held on 10th September at Kempsey Swimming Pool 10 -12 midday, 24th September 9 – 11am at Crescent Head Pool. The Nippers Season starts on 9th October from 9:00am.

There is also a Bronze medallion course being run at the club starting Tuesday 6th September from 7:00pm.
